Ryan Sadness has such a diverse discography and I'm having a great time working through it. This one is like if depressive black metal and lo-fi indie rock had a love child. Perfect album for a cold rainy day. Favorite track: It rained every day....

Jordan Vauvert Ne pas connaître Sadness, c'est ne pas savoir qu'une certaine disposition est nécessaire pour apprécier ses albums. Such a short time..., j'ai fait "l'erreur" de l'écouter seul dans la salle d'attente d'un hôpital et que j'avais justement environ 30 minutes à tuer. Je ne pourrai pas dire que je n'ai pas été réceptif. C'est même tout le contraire : la rage et l'abattement qui disparaissent dans le silence sur ces deux pistes brisent en morceaux.

On ne frappe pas un homme à terre : c'est ce que dit la règle mais NONE a déjà prouvé qu'il ne les suivait pas et si son album éponyme retirait toute perspective de béatitude spirituelle, Life has gone on long enough, son deuxième opus, nous interdit l'accès au bonheur terrestre. La vie n'a aucune substance et la production plus distante le confirme. Le DSBM s'empare de textures sonores blues, mettant en relief une dépression urbaine. Les cris partent en fumées : ne restent que les pleurs... Jordan Vauvert

I was always intrigued by this group's choice of album covers, it isn't every day that you see high quality space photos in this genre despite the rise of "cosmic" black metal. But the music blew me away, this sounds like Austere took the atmospheric spacey route. (I will assume it's a coincidence that both bands are Australian) porcelainheart-
